Event Review: World Muslimah Award 2014

Udah lama pengen review event ini, yang diadakam bulan November lalu, tetapi as you know, kepadatan deadline tugas anak kuliahan yang agak sedikit mengganggu *loh?. Iya am now a new collage student. Harus banyak adaptasi lagi sama lingkungan kampus yang baru, just believe I can handle it, inshallah.

First of all, I wanna tell you a little about World Muslimah Award. What is it? The World Muslimah, also known as Miss World Muslimah, is an annual international beauty pageant and awards event for young Muslim women who are judged to have shown dedication, reputation and concern forIslamic values and community development. The event is run as an international charity event by the World Muslimah Foundation (WMF) to benefit relief of Muslim women in food crises, wars, conflicts and natural disasters. The first World Muslimah Award was held online at 1 August 2011, and the first Grand Final was held 13 September in the same year. The requirements are designed to be different from those of pageants like Miss World. Contestants are required to demonstrate religious piety, to be positive role models and show a life of Muslim spirituality.

Oke, last month. Saya mewakili teman teman Hijabers Community Yogyakarta, dihubungi oleh pihak EO penyelenggara World Muslimah Award 2014. World Muslimah Award, event tahunan dunia yang biasanya diadakan di Jakarta, kali ini Yogyakarta yang dipilih. Kita diminta untuk mengisi sharing santai dengan konsep piknik. Ini mendapat respon positive dari teman teman. Kita semangat prepare sampe hari H,

Monday, November 17th, 2014. We go picnic to Borobudur Temple. There are about 18 of the 25 participants who attended from around the world. We immediately opened the event, it so fun. Friday, November 21st, 2014. Grand Final And Coronation Night World Muslimah Award 2014 at Ramayana Ballet Prambanan. The eventual winner was a 25 years old computer scientist from Tunisia, Fatma Ben Guefrache, whose prize included a gold watch, a gold dinar, and a mini pilgrimage to Mecca. "May almightly Allah help me in this mission, and free Palestine, please, please, free Palestine and the Syrian people." she said in a tearful acceptance speech. Ahhh, alhamdulillah. Congrats dear Fatma!
